1. Recommendation from Ward Office
Initially, the to-be-registered NGO must receive certification along with a letter of recommendation from the respective Ward Office where the NGO will be operated. The Recommendation requires several notarized Documents, Copies of the minutes of the First Meeting, and much more.
2. Certificate of Registration from District Coordination Committee
After the recommendation of the Ward Office has been obtained, another recommendation Certificate must be obtained from the District Coordination Committee.
3. Registration by District Administration Office
Finally, for the finalization of NGO Registration in Nepal, an application must be submitted to the District Administration Office where your Company will be operating. Therefore, a thorough Review of the NGO is initiated. If the NGO successfully passes the Review, the District Administration Office issues a certificate of Verification.
Consequently, the Social Welfare Council Act provisions that any Organizations involved in Societal Activities and Social Welfare must be mandatorily associated with the Council. So, the Certified NGO must become affiliated with the Social Welfare Council to legally operate in Nepal.
5. Registration at the Inland Revenue Department
Finally, as the NGO will be actively involved in Financial Transaction, a PAN Number is required along with complete registration in the Inland Revenue Department. After the NGO is completely affiliated with the Inland Revenue Department, it can be said to have been registered in Nepal.
